THE CREATIVE PROCESS

estampado floral inspirado en el art nouveau
As a result of a collaboration with the Povo family, we have rescued her father’s designs to create a collection of scarves and foulards. Not only to have more models, but also for the need and desire to preserve the art. To give continuity to her father’s work. The process, carried out with her daughter, has been an enormous enjoyment. Selecting, creating rapports from the original designs, treating them digitally to obtain the best result? Undoubtedly, a process that he would repeat a thousand times.

THE ARTIST

Estampado art nouveau pintado a mano
Fernando Povo (Valencia 1908/1992) was a multifaceted artist and we could say “self-made”, his artistic training, mostly self-taught, took place between Paris and Barcelona. He worked there from a very young age in various graphic arts workshops, scenography, design, etc., alternating his work/artistic experiences with his studies at the San Jorge School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. Once definitively settled in Barcelona, he started working in interior design, distinguishing himself for his drawing skills as well as for the sensitivity and elegance of his proposals. Art, in its broad sense of the word, fills the life of this artist, which leads him to explore artistically in painting, sculpture, drawing, prints, designs of all kinds etc.. In 1953 he set up his studio in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, beginning a professional career as an interior designer and also in the world of antiques. His personality, discreet but elegant, was highly appreciated both in his professional circle and in that of his clients, leaving a great memory as a person and as an artist.
